Messiah and the Great Baltimore Fire

On February 7-8, 1904, most of the business district in downtown Baltimore burnt to the ground.  More than 1,500 buildings were destroyed, including the Church of the Messiah, which was then located at Fayette and Gay Streets.  Our building was the only church that was burnt.
